This is our own version of the Ground Hog Day movie. We traveled all day and overnight on Thursday and arrived in Los Angeles Thursday afternoon! Only one more LONG day of travel to get home.
Today was spent in the Daintree Rainforest, the oldest tropical rainforest on earth. We took a train up into the forest, then got to see koalas, kangaroos, and wallabies. I got to hold a koala and hand feed a kangaroo! Next we went to BirdWorld and saw all kinds of native birds. Next, we road a CableCar over the top of the rainforest. Another amazing day!
I have very little internet and may have to wait to post photos. The photos do not do this justice. It was amazing!
A slight delay in our travel plans today. They shut down the airport five minutes before we were to board because of a severe thunderstorm. Good thing we had nothing else scheduled today! This is the first time weather has affected our plans. The hotel in Cairnes (pronounced as Cans), has VERY poor wifi, so I will add these notes later.
Today we toured the Sydney Opera House, then took a city tour and had a late lunch in the 1000 foot Sydney Tower Revolving Restaurant.
Today we toured Melbourne. The architecture is amazing! Many buildings are on the Historical Registry, but right beside them are examples of modern architecture.
